Gran Turismo 5: Gentleman's Engine Starting Delayed...Again - The UpStream

Scott is a developer who has worked on projects of varying sizes, including all of the PLUGHITZ Corporation properties. He is also known in the gaming world for his time supporting the rhythm game community, through DDRLover and hosting tournaments throughout the Tampa Bay Area. Currently, when he is not working on software projects or hosting F5 Live: Refreshing Technology, Scott can often be found returning to his high school days working with the Foundation for Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST), mentoring teams and helping with ROBOTICON Tampa Bay. He has also helped found a student software learning group, the ASCII Warriors, currently housed at AMRoC Fab Lab.

With over ten years of audio engineering experience, Nick's addition to PLuGHiTz Corporation is best served when he is behind the mixing board every Sunday night to produce the audio side of F5 Live: Refreshing Technology, Piltch Point and PLuGHiTz Live Night Cap. While mixing live every week, his previous radio show hosting experience gives him the ability to co-host as well, giving each show a unique flare with his slightly off-center, yet still realistic take on all things tech. An integral part of the show, you can find Nick always enveloped in coming up with new (and sometimes crazy) ideas and content for the show and you can always expect the most direct opinion on the stories that he feels need to be shared with the world. During the few hours where Nick isn't sleeping or working on ways to improve the company, he spends his free time going to hockey and football games and playing the latest titles on Xbox 360. We have some follow up news since our review a few weeks ago and it looks like Square Enix has heard the players' "vocal" suggestions and/or screams about several key problems that were making more than the Chocobos sick with distress. On the 15th of this month the developers released some pre-patch notes cluing us in on what to expect come November.

For those of you who actually thought Gran Turismo 5 was going to release on the already delayed November 2nd date and to those of you who pre-ordered the game I only have one thing to say, N00B! About the only exception to this is if you are completely new to the franchise and if that's the case let me know in the comments and I'll show you a liar.

One of China's largest electronics manufacturers can't seem to stay out of trouble and out of the news. They have a long history of alleged worker mistreatment, wage discrimination and facilitating poor working conditions. All of which came to a head earlier this year when 11 employees attempted suicide. Foxconn then responded by trying to force them into signing, "I promise not to kill myself pledges." However, the most recent controversy stems from recent independent surveys conducted by several universities in China.

By court order this week, Apple will have to fork over a little more than $200 million to Mirror Worlds, LLC after losing a case involving patent infringement. Apple was ruled to be in violation of "document streaming" patents that belonged to Mirror Worlds, which happen to be a little too similar to the design and implementation of Apple's Cover Flow and Time Machine.

It appears as though Microsoft has come to the realization that their new WinPho 7 operating system might be compared to the iPhone 1, 3 and 3GS in terms of what it cannot do. It also appears that they were just kidding when they said people don't copy and paste anymore. That is because this week Microsoft announced that there will be a software update to include copy and paste into Windows Phone 7. You'll just have to wait until 'early 2011' to get it. So don't go opening large Word documents just yet!

Anyone who knows anything about energy knows that the belief that cell phones can cause cancer is nonsense and yet no one in the know has ever come out and said, "You people are idiots." That is until now.

Super Mario Bros. for the Nintendo Entertainment System hit the quarter-century mark last month and with the advent of HD TVs the game is certainly starting to show its age. I was able to play the game on a 32" HD TV and saw first hand where Miyamoto and his development team cut some corners but seriously, who cares? We are talking about not just "a" game but "the" game that created and changed an entire industry.

The NPD has recently decided to limit the sharing of game sales numbers to the press. We will still receive comparison across manufacturers and a top ten list of software, but how much hardware or software sold will no longer be disclosed. Also, with that top ten, we will only see sales figures for the top five. We will also no longer be privy to digital subscriptions, mobile games or rentals sold for a specific time period.

We love the Internet and all of its insane glory but there are people out there that think it is a problem. You might be wondering, "Who are these madmen?" The answer, in short, is the FCC.

T-Mobile mentioned months ago that they were finally going to prefer data throttling over data capping. They even had a rough date of April to begin implementation of the new limitations. We guess something happened inside their headquarters because an internal memo went out this week letting T-Mobilers know that they finally decided to move forward with data throttling starting October 16th.

The new Disney/Marvel family has decided to take the media world by force. The best way to do that is to create Marvel Studios TV, which is exactly what they did. The new division will be responsible for developing television programming based on Marvel properties.

PS3 owners - are you ready for some disc-free, HD Netflix? Well, your time has come. Microsoft's exclusivity deal has finally run out and it is time for you PS3 owners to join in on the fun. But you won't just be joining the full Netflix family, you will be taking over as the head of household.
