E3 2010 - Twisted Fun With Twisted Metal
posted Tuesday Jun 15, 2010 by Jon Wurm
We saw a lot of game titles thrown around during the Sony's E3 Keynote this year but Twisted Metal for the PS3 was a truly shocking announcement. The series is the oldest of all the PlayStation titles dating all the way back to the original PlayStation system. I'm glad to say that the new version for the PS3 still has the feel of the original but includes some new life as well. There are new vehicles to look forward to as well as new game play modes.
One of the modes played during the live demo was called "Nuke," which requires a team effort to overcome the opposing faction by kidnapping their leader and dragging them back to an area with your team's missile launcher, then feeding them to it. After three missiles hit their giant metal mascots suspended by helicopters in the air, the game is over. Keep in mind the maps are huge which leaves plenty of room for specialized vehicles in the air and on the ground.
Hit the break for more on Twisted Metal.
For those of us who are old enough to remember, Twisted Metal brings back warm memories of dominating our friends for hours and hours with extreme prejudice, which is a feeling I look forward to having again, and again, and again. Stayed tuned over the next couple of months for updates on new vehicles, weapons, and otherwise awesomeness! Twisted Metal is due to ship out sometime in 2011.
