A New Way to Watch Movies on Your Phone

Windows Phone 7 might be the new kid on the block, but some pretty big partners have already gotten on-board to produce exclusive applications for the platform. Most notably is the new series of Paramount movie apps. Since WinPho7 is entirely Silverlight based, it gives Paramount a perfect platform to produce video applications.

The first of 10 planned titles is Jack Black's School of Rock. Included in the application is the ability to watch the full movie, cut out clips, see the special features, get movie trivia and play Scene It? based on the particular title.

For more of the titles and the details, hit the break.

If you are a WinPho7 owner and a fan of GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra, Waiting for Superman or Zoolander you are also in luck, as Paramount has plans to add these titles, as well as 6 others to be named at an unnamed date in the future.

This is certainly an interesting and creative approach to using the Silverlight-based phone service provided by Microsoft. We hope this will be successful and that we will see a lot more of these style applications popping up in the very near future.
