Google's Andy Rubin Doesn't Think We Need WinPho 7

Andy Rubin, the Vice President of Engineering at Google was very open and direct in a recent interview with PC Mag. This is the man responsible for the creation of Android before Google got their hands on it.

He attacked pretty much any and everybody, basically calling out OEMs who haven't kept up with the Android releases. He even says that "there's no advantage to the OEM of using an older version, and I'd say there's a consumer disadvantage." Well, at least he's not alright with the 23 different flavor combinations - I mean, versions of Android out there.

For a quote from Rubin that will make your jaw drop, hit the break.

When the mention of WinPho 7 came about, Andy was quick to say this:

I think the screen shots I've seen are interesting, but look, the world doesn't need another platform. Android is free and open; I think the only reason you create another platform is for political reasons.

Really? Let's just throw away the fact that Windows Mobile was out before you starting sippin' the Goo-laid. And we can also not mention the fact that Google was super interested in your Android platform strictly for political reasons. But whatever you say Andy. Will WinPho 7 be successful and profitable? Maybe. We'll see in a couple quarters.

You can, however, see the rest of the interview by clicking the source link below. There's a lot of information in there. Is he crazy or is it just us? Comment below. We want to know what you think!
