E3 2010 - They All Said I Would Never Be A Jedi

A short while ago in a state far far away from Florida, us here at PLuGHiTz Live! got a chance to see a sneak peek of Lucas Arts new Star Wars based project utilizing the newly named Kinect. If you didn't get to see it yourself in the comfort of your homes, I suggest you start searching for the footage now.

While the Lucas Arts representative didn't give any details besides the fact that it would be coming to us in 2011, I will try my best to paint a picture for you of what we saw. I grew up watching the Star Wars movies and all I ever dreamed about was having my own lightsaber and defending the galaxy against the evil Empire. Thanks to the Kinect, it looks like I'll be able to realize that dream.

For the rest of the preview, hit the break!

The demo showed to us highlighted a lone Jedi Knight fighting his way threw the streets of what looked like the planet Naboo. Waves and waves of droids and tanks came after him and he just kept pushing threw them, leaving their remains in his wake. Now you may be thinking that "Josh... This sounds more like a Cinematic rather than a gameplay demo". There in-lies the kicker my friends... because the Jedi we saw fighting his way through the streets was being controlled by a player... USING THE KINECT!

Yes my friends, that means that you and I will be able to wield a lightsaber and cut down our foes with a single strike, and will be able to use the force as we desire, all without a controller. Needless to say I am excited to see what exactly Lucas Arts has in store for us, and believe me when I say that I can not wait.

Also, don't forget to check out PLuGHiTz Live! Radio Tuesday night @ 9PM Eastern for our Microsoft and EA recap show and Wednesday night @9PM Eastern for our Sony and Ubisoft recap show!
