3D PS3 - Take That Natal!

Sony announced at an investor presentation that they would be upgrading the PlayStation 3 to incorporate 3D capabilities. Sony has made a big deal to the industry about 3D Blu-Ray, and it was only a matter of time before we saw it come to the PS3, but it sounds like they have their hopes set higher than that.
By patching the PS3, they would be giving developers the ability to write games that take advantage of the same 3D engine. Can you imagine if you could convulse your way through Lair while feeling like you're really being flown to the hospital by a dragon?
Now, if you want to enjoy the benefits of 3D movies or gaming, your TV has to support steroscopic 3D as well, and the chances aren't good that yours does. If Sony can push the market, though, we will start seeing more than a handful of models start hitting the market, and with the right incentives, we might even see a majority of TVs sporting the feature in the near future.
Do you think this is a feature that people will readily flock to, or is this just another Sony project that is destined to fail before it gets off the ground? Let us know below.
