RUMOR: Netflix Everywhere But PS3

This generation of technology's prices have made it so that most people can only own one piece of hardware, whether it be a major gaming console, handheld or media player. If you made the decision to purchase a PS3 as your one and only device, here is another reason why you might have been wrong. Rumor has it that Netflix is extending its Instant Play service to the iPhone, iPod Touch and Nintendo Wii. Multichannel News says:

The company will soon offer the Watch Instantly video-streaming feature on Apple iPhones and iPod Touch devices and the Nintendo Wii gaming console, according to an industry executive familiar with Netflix's plans. (Netflix wouldn't confirm the info, with a rep saying it declines to comment on 'rumors or speculation.')

This, in addition to the existing capability on the 360, mean almost everyone will be able to use Netflix without a computer. There are a few concerns here, of course. Playback on the Wii might be a little unimpressive, as the Wii has only 480p output, but if you have a Wii, graphics quality isn't your objective. Playback on the iPhone could cause a major strain on the AT&T network, but based on previous experience, my guess is this will be WiFi exclusive.

If any of this happens, would you take advantage of it, or are you happy with Netflix on your computer and 360?
