The Verge's Creators Gift Guide Review
posted Friday Dec 17, 2021 by PLUGHITZ Live Staff
The Verge is reliable when it comes to their gift guide, but is this new edition worth it? You'll find some highly known products for their quality and others that leave you expecting more.
From Elgato GameCapture HD60 S+, Sony A6600, DJI Ronin SC2 gimbal, and Shure MV7; to Philips Hue Smart Lightstrip Plus Base Kit, Wacom One drawing tablet, Aputure MV Video Light, and Keychron K6 Mechanical Keyboard; you'll find a bit of everything tech-related in this list.
Check them out below with a brief review from us! Be ready to spend some bucks this holiday season, but make sure you don't regret it!
The Verge's Selection
These are the items that made us take a second look at The Verge's gift guide
Recommended
Ikea Gaming Hand
The IKEA Gaming Hand is unusual; we're not going to lie. It's very weird, but we're not going to knock it off because depending on what aesthetic you have (maybe for a streaming studio) it might be appropriate. Purchase it here.
Elgato Game Capture HD60 S+
For simple stuff, it is industry standard. The Verge does specify that this is the high-end capture card. So there are other versions, like the HD60. This is the one that does 4k 30. The S does 1080P 60, then the HD 6, and there's an HD 30 that does 1080P 30. Elgato is good overall when it comes to standard capture cards. Buy it here!
Wacom One Drawing Tablet
The Wacom One Drawing Tablet. In our opinion, Wacom is the industry standard. When you think of doing anything professionally, this is the one that everybody uses. Purchase your Wacom here.
LaCie Rugged Mini 2TB
ALWAYS try to avoid LaCie because of their high failure rate. Honestly, nothing stands out about this product; you'll save more money avoiding purchasing it than buying it. They just don't work, even if you beg them to. Learn more here. Consider a Seagate or Western Digital instead.
Peak Design Everyday Backpack v2
It's just another expensive backpack with nothing really special about it. You can check it out here. Check out the Vivitar VIV-DKS-18 instead.
Nanoleaf Shapes Triangle Smarter Kit
We're keeping it clear here: this product is expensive for what it has to offer. It's also less functional than other similar items. Find it here. Check out the Monster Smart Prism instead.
