Poland Proposes Painful Pedophile Punishment

This is certainly something to be fearful of! Two words: chemical castration! Sounds painful huh? Well, in Poland there is a new law, recently approved, that would make it a requirement for pedophiles who violated certain laws to endure this seemingly painful procedure.
Poland's center-right government sponsored this law which would effect any criminal who was convicted of a crime involving the raping of children under the age of 15 or incest. Immediately after being released from prison, their treatments would begin, in hopes of lowering libido, or sex drive. No it's not actually physically removed, thank goodness! They would also have to undergo therapy to improve their mental state, and lower the chance of a crime being committed by the same person.
Human rights groups all over the world are outraged, but Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, believes anyone who is capable of committing such a crime is a creature and cannot be considered a human being. "I don't think protection of human rights should refer to these kind of events," he also stated.
Piotr Kladoczny, from the Helsinki Foundation of Human Rights does not think this is a violation of human rights, saying
If somebody is of sound mind, we punish him. If he is sick, we try to cure him -- that's how it works in Polish law. This bill introduces both approaches. As far as I know, this makes our law the strictest in Europe on this issue.
This law is still yet to be fully decided, requiring approval from the upper chamber of parliament, but if passed will also increase prison time for crimes involving rape and incest in Poland.
