As the threat landscape evolves beyond the OS to the root kit level, data loss and data security become an increased challenge. With the rise of these new threats, there is an evolution of IT trends - virtualization, mobile devices, and the general consumerization of IT has created a larger attack surface. Intel and McAfee are seeking combinations of hardware in mobile devices and software to fend off these threats and attacks, in a hardware enhanced security approach.
