Description

Every year during CES, we try to check in with certain companies who are continually pushing their product category forward. One of those companies is Altec Lansing, one of the leading audio equipment companies for consumers and professionals. In the past, we've discussed the company's Bluetooth speakers, headphones, and earbuds. This year, the company has a new PA and DJ speaker that brings powerful audio in a lightweight body.

Who is Altec Lansing?

Altec Lansing is a world-renowned audio company that has been in business since 1927. They specialize in sound systems, speakers, headphones, and earbuds for both home and professional use. The brand is well known for its exceptional audio quality, durability, and innovative designs. Plus, our experience has been that their products manage to produce amazing sound quality while also being incredibly light - an unusual pairing in the audio industry.

Several years ago, the company reinvigorated its image with the popular Boomjacket line of Bluetooth speakers. In addition to the sound quality the company has long been known for, they also made the speakers nearly indestructible. On display at CES that year were three units that had been through a lot - one of which had literally been blown up with explosives. This product has since expanded into a whole line with one for every type of audio user.

Altec Lansing SoundRover Pro

The SoundRover Pro is an upgrade to the existing SoundRover Bluetooth speaker. The SoundRover Pro is a party speaker that has wheels and a handle, making it easy to move around. But, it offers a lot more than just that. Because it is an Altec Lansing Bluetooth speaker, it is able to connect together with another to create an audio mesh. Plus, if you plug in an audio source into one of them, the sound can be broadcast through both of them.

Those connections allow for external inputs, such as mixers, microphones, and even guitars. This makes the SoundRover Pro, or a pair of them, a great companion for party planners, DJs, and even local bands. Easily roll the speakers in, pair them together, and turn a large or small room into a part room with ease. In addition, it is perfect for a family or personal party where karaoke is on the agenda.

One of the best part of this speaker is that, like most Altec Lansing products, it is incredibly light weight. As the speaker is intended to be moved around, the lighter weight is perfect. Sure, it's got wheels to move it around once it's on the ground, but you've also got to get it into and outside of a car to bring it to your party, and the weight will absolutely make that easier for a single person to move.
