Ah, the Internet of Things: the promise of a connected world. But, how many of these connected devices work together? What if you buy a light bulb that is not part of your home system? It's completely useless, except on its own.
What if everything communicated via Bluetooth? Then you could choose what system you wanted to use and wouldn't have to worry about compatibility. That is the future that Oort sees. To get you started, they offer a starter kit for $350, which includes the Bluetooth connected hub, light bulbs, sockets and even a tracker beacon.
Through the smartphone app you can keep track of the status of devices, like whether a light is turned on or whether the garage door is open, and you can change them if needed.
