A Device Hub for Connecting Health Devices Without a Smartphone

Saturday Jan 10, 2015 (00:03:03)

Description

Many connected devices could provide a lot of important information about older people, but there is a problem with this idea: the smartphone. Most of these devices require a connection, at least occasional, to a smartphone or tablet to provide any usefulness. That usefulness is certainly cut out when the person interacting with the device has no smart device.

Because of this issue, iHealth has announced Discover, a connected hub which allows people without a smart device to connect their devices to the hub instead. From the hub, your data is synced to their system, allowing access from any web browser - no smartphone required. From there, data can be shared with family members or doctors. The Discover should be available before the end of 2015.
