I See the ZuneHD!

I See the ZuneHD!

I mentioned last week about the deal Best Buy struck with Microsoft regarding the ZuneHD. It appears that we have the first sighting of the box! It sure does look like the rest of the Zune boxes that are out to the masses right now, but certainly the words "HD Radio" in big purple print must have somebody other than me excited! Get your pre-order in! The ZuneHD releases on September 15th.

Apple Responds to the FCC

A couple weeks ago I told you about Google's CEO leaving Apple possibly over the Google Voice app on the iPhone. Well, Google wrote a letter to the FCC asking them to investigate the situation. The FCC, in turn, required both AT&T and Apple to respond with their versions of what had happened. It may sound like a summer camp counselor breaking up a fight, but this is some serious stuff.

So, this week, Apple responded, and their response was pretty much expected. They said:

Cataclysm: A Monumental Expansion

Here is a huge update on WOW's newest expansion called Cataclysm. If you have been keeping up with us you remember that we mentioned this a few weeks back when it was just a rumor. Well hold onto to your Alliance steins and Horde figurines cause Blizzard just dropped a bomb. The new expansion is coming equipped with quite a few game changing features. So, here is the jist of what's happening. There is an until recently dead dragon named Deathwing who like the Phoenix, has risen from the dead and royally screwed the WOW universe but from this chaos there will be much (welcomed) change:

There are new race/class combinations so you can finally play as a Human Hunter or Blood Elf Warrior and etc.

You can be expecting some new PvP Zones and Battle Grounds.

Guild levels and guild achievements are now available.

All the classic zones are being redone with new content and looks!

To see the rest of the list, hit the break!

Judgement Day is Inevitable After All

Ut oh! Remember how advancements in robotics were supposed to change the world for the better? Remember how they were supposed to aid us with mass production, making difficult surgeries more effective and just overall making our world a better place? Well turns out they do some of those things. It also turns out they can lie and deceive. There are some researchers from Switzerland's Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne who thought that augmenting some robots designed to find food to be less than your regular honest, hard working, run of the mill robot was a good idea.

New Drug Scare Tactics

New Drug Scare Tactics

It's back to school, and you know what that means - time for scare tactics from the local news affiliates to get you to watch the 11 o'clock news instead of going to sleep so you can wake up in the morning and get your kids ready for school! Today's story comes to us from the local ABC affiliate in Phoenix, Arizona.

The report claims that drug use triples in middle school. How many of you remember a drug problem in elementary school? I don't even remember a single situation where an administrator even considered the possibility of someone having drugs, so triple that isn't really a scary stat for me.
