I am pleased to announce that there were some good things that came from Konami this year. Everybody clap at Konami! Koji Igarashi, a producer for Konami Digital Entertainment announced one title I'm really excited for. This title is part of a 25 year old franchise that all of us NES lovers remember fondly. I'm talking of course about Castlevania Harmony of Despair.
This is a new take on the original 2D versions for the NES and looks to bring new life to the old 2D platform. The maps are now connected so monsters can actually follow you through the game creating a more continuous world. It is also the first multiplayer game of the franchise with a co-op mode and versus mode so you can play with or against each other. Koji also talked about the graphics getting a face lift as well so you can expect a more vibrant atmosphere. We didn't get to see a lot of game play but it certainly looks exciting.

After Koji, David Cox who is also a producer for Konami Digital Entertainment announced another Castelvania title, Castelvania Lord of Shadow, which is due out for the Xbox 360 and PS3 this fall. We didn't get to see any actual game play yet but the trailer suggests that this installment of the series will shock and awe with stunning graphics and an immerse world. Besides, with Patrick Stewart narrating the story and playing Zobek, it can only be awesome. We'll keep you up to date with more news as it's released.
Personally, I can't wait. What about you? Are you looking forward to a return to Castlevania? Let us know in the comments section below.
