A Thermometer That Helps Prevent the Spread of Disease
Saturday Jan 10, 2015 (00:04:58)
Digital thermometers are nothing new - they have been around for years now. Even connected thermometers aren't a new concept, connecting your thermometer to your phone or tablet. These devices all have something in common, though: they all have to touch the person to get a reading.
By touching a sick person, the thermometer potentially becomes part of the infection process. If the thermometer is not cleaned completely, it could become a petri dish, spreading illness to the next user. Enter the ThermoFlash from BeWell. This connected thermometer can take an FDA-approved temperature reading without needing to touch the person.
The consumer device will be available in the near future for $100, and will come with the same FDA-approved sensor quality. It will also have the ability to connect to a smartphone for logging of data.
From laptops and Lumia to Surface and Xbox, get it at the Microsoft Store.
